Denver City Pediatric Hospital
The Denver City Pediatric Hospital incoporates inspiration of nature from the natural landscape of Colorado. Elements like snowy mountainscapes, rivers and strems, meadow flowers, and greenery are found inside. Represented in images, colors, ceiling shapes, and floor patterns; it feels like nature is inside this building. The DCPH appears colorful and playful, inviting kids to interact with the shapes and colors, while calming parents by using blues and neutral hues. This building hosts an ICU, Pre-op area, many outdoor greenhouse style courtyards, office spaces and a large waiting/lobby area. All of the spaces include a mix of ACT ceilings and painted drywall to keep echoing noise levels down and provide visual interest. Nurses stations are color coded in multiple areas on floors and ceilings for easier wayfinding throughout the ICU area.
